
Anshul Sunil Saurastri is Managing Partner at Krishna & Saurastri Associates LLP, where he oversees day-to-day management and drives the firm’s strategic initiatives. His practice spans all aspects of intellectual property, dispute resolution and corporate law and he is widely recognized for his practical, commercial-minded, and multi-disciplinary approach.
As trusted counsel to both domestic and multinational clients, Anshul has extensive experience protecting brands, inventions, product designs, and creative works, procuring numerous patent, trademark, design, and copyright registrations. His robust practice includes handling complex prosecution, high-stakes oppositions, invalidity/nullity actions and appeals. He regularly represents parties before Indian courts in patent, design, copyright and trademark infringement and unfair competition matters, including passing off, disparagement, defamation, breach of confidence, misleading advertisement claims. Furthermore, Anshul also advises on protection of trade secrets, confidential information and data protection and privacy issues. With deep expertise in transactional matters, Anshul regularly structures, negotiates and executes technology transfers, joint ventures, brand acquisitions, asset purchases, licensing, franchising, and distribution agreements. He also possesses considerable experience handling general corporate disputes including contractual conflicts, boardroom contests, shareholder and employee tussles, etc.
Prior to his legal career, Anshul worked in R&D and at a US IP/early-stage investment firm. Blending degrees in science, engineering and law and training in legal and technical fields, he has amassed multi-disciplinary expertise. Anshul holds a Master’s in Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn), Bachelor’s in Applied Sciences from Case Western Reserve University and Law Degree from GLC, Mumbai. He is a Advocate/Attorney at Law and Patent Attorney.
Anshul is an active member of the global legal community, serving currently as Member of INTA’s Unfair Competition Committee and previously as Member of INTA’s Enforcement Committee, LES’s Executive Council and AIPPI’s Trade Secret Committee. He is also an active member of AIPPI, APAA, AIPLA, LES, IBA and IPBA. A frequent lecturer and author, he has received numerous accolades over his career, being named an INTA Rising Star, and recognized as a leading practitioner by IAM Patent 1000, WTR 1000, Benchmark Litigation, Chambers & Partners, IP Stars, Asia IP, Asian Legal Business, AsiaLaw and the India Business Law Journal.
